Speech-language assessments
The Montreal Fluency Centre offers assessment services in the following areas:
- Speech (articulation, tongue thrust)
- Phonology analysis
- Emerging language (18 months – 2.5 years)
- Preschool language (2.6 years – K)
- School-age language – Grades 1 to 6
- Preventative reading screener:
- Preschool (ages 4 – 5)
- Kindergarten and Grade 1
- Full literacy evaluation – Grades 2 to 6
Psycho-educational assessments
The MFC offers:
- Assesment to determine if there is a learning or attention disorder (ADD or ADHD)
- Joint assessment by a speech-language pathologist and a school psychologist
Preschool psycho-educational assessments
Preschool psycho-educational assessments provide information about:
- intellectual functioning (e.g., verbal reasoning, memory, ability to problem solve using pictures, information processing, etc.)
- pre-academic skills/school readiness
Assessment requires between three and eight hours of time with the child and an average of three hours with parents.
School-age psycho-educational assessments
The following psycho-educational assessments are available for school-age children:
- early elementary school students (January of grade one until the end of grade three)
- late elementary school, high school and post-secondary school students (grade four and higher)
- combined assessment (determined on a case-by-case basis to address multiple concerns in one assessment)
